Coming Events! Mark your calendars

VMSMA Membership Mtg • June 7th
All members (you're a member if you paid your dues to the State Association for 2011) are invited to attend an informational meeting regarding the merger of the Vermont Maple Foundation into the State Association. This meeting will be held at St. Peters Church Parish Hall, on Maple Street in Vergennes. The meeting will begin at 7pm. A VOTE on the merger will take place at this meeting and NO proxy voting is allowed. Please watch your mail for more information or contact VMSMA with questions.

Maplerama Comm. Mtg • June 14th
The Committee is working hard to pull our Maplerama together. The committee is going to meet at 6pm at Field Days. Want to help out? We need volunteers to be tour guides, set-up assistants, registration helpers, bag stuffers, and general helpers. If you are interested in volunteering please contact Moe or Barb.

Sugarhouse Clean Up Day • July 23rd
We will be getting the sugarhouse ready for both Maplerama and Field Days on Saturday beginning at 9am. Please bring cleaning rags, buckets, brooms, and whatever you like to clean with. Please contact Moe if you can't come on Saturday but would still like to help as there is the new sign to put up and other jobs.
MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK!!

Maplerama • July 28-30th
Our time to show off Addison County! The tentative schedule and registration form is enclosed. If you attended the Addison County January Maple School, you earned yourself a $10 per day discount on Maplerama. Please check the box on the enclosed registration form.

The Maplerama Committee is looking for nominations for the outstanding young sugarmaker award—Ray Foulds Award. Nominees must be younger than 35 years old. Contact Andy Hutchison to suggest a candidate.

Bring your syrup to be judged against syrup from all over the region. Judging will be Friday afternoon around 1pm. Please have samples to Field Days no later than NOON. The sample should be 16oz. Please include name, address and phone number. Prizes will be awarded!

Field Days • August 9th-13th
Managers—Barb will again manage Field Days. Much Much Much help is needed as it's overly busy this year with Maplerama. Please be on the lookout for the volunteer sheet. CONSIDER YOURSELF ASKED! If each member volunteered than everyone would only have to work ONE shift.

Buying syrup—Be thinking about selling your syrup to Field Days. The prices will be set as we get closer to Field Days. We will be offering competitive prices.

From the Annual Meeting

Dues have been raised to $10 per sugaring operation. If you have paid your dues, your card should be included with this mailing. Please submit your dues for this year to Barb Rainville.

The new sign created by Mountain Signs, in Ripton, was revealed. The sign will be put on the sugarhouse at Field Days.

Your lateral lines may be eligible to be recycled. Please call 802-524-5986 for more information and what the guidelines are.
