Penney's Maple Bread Pudding

4 – 4 ½ cup of bread cubes
4 large eggs
1 1/4 cup of milk
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup Amber Rich maple syrup
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp maple or vanilla extract
1/4 tsp 5 spice
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/8 cup maple sugar
1/4 cup diced pecans

- Preheat oven to 350.
- Grease 1 1/2 quart baking dish. Place in prepared pan.
- Whisk together eggs, milk, cream, syrup, brown sugar, flavoring, 5 spice and cinnamon.
- Pour over the bread cubes and let sit for 15 minutes until the liquid is absorbed.
- Place in water bath and cover.
- Bake for 35 minutes.
- Uncover and sprinkle with pecans and maple sugar.
- Bake for another 15 to 20 minutes until light brown around the edges.
- Best served warm.
